What Do You Get When You Mix Architects And An Open Bar?
It's been a few days, but we'd like to recap our Thursday night. First, Dwell Magazine's 5th anniversary party at Armani Casa (very chunky and shockingly inelegant furniture--not that we'd turn it down) where we did not see a single person we recognized. On to the AIA's Party@the Center where a good number of people came straight from the very expensive Heritage Ball and a few of them fell down. Repeatedly. To eighties music. Most-gossip-mongered story from the Ball: Jeanne-Claude taking the stage and yelling at everyone for being "un-American" for not paying attention to the video everyone seemed to assume was background entertainment and totally talked over. People who we saw: Fred Schwartz and Tracey Hummer, en fuego as always; WTC memorial designer Michael Arad and LMDC press officer Joanna Rose; ArchNewsNows-er Kristen Richards; Architect's Newspaper editors Cathy Ho and Anne Guiney; that dude from Snohetta; and then, of course, since no party is complete without him, James Sanders. Architects. More like drunkitects.
