Warren Platner Dies at 86
It's been a rough week for the design world, first losing type-master Richard Eckersley, then midcentury modern designer and architect Warren Platner. You'll remember Platner best for his iconic steel furniture collection (tables above) that's still available at Knoll. Platner also devised a distinctive look for office interiors, namely in the Ford Foundation building in New York under the architect Kevin Roche. Something we didn't know: He designed the interiors for the World Trade Center's Windows on the World. Email This Post |
