Have we before oohed and aahed over TED prize-winning Dave Eggers' 826 mentoring centers-slash-retail stores before? Of course we have. Do we get a huge kick out of the San Francisco pirate supply store, or the Brooklyn Superhero Supply Co.? Definitely. But when the Echo Park Time Travel Mart opened in our hometown this past weekend, well, our allegiances shifted. Most of all because we love the store tagline: "Whenever you are, we were already then." The space was designed by R. Scott Mitchell and Stefan Bucher took time away from his monsters to design the packaging for products from Mammoth Chunks (mmmm, meaty) to Robot Milk (robots have nipples?). And he even gives us the party report, where celebs like Natalie Portman were seen giggling at his wares, and this walk-through video, so you feel like you were right there at the opening, too.

But of course you really didn't miss the opening, since you can just travel back to Saturday whenever you please.
