Talking to Peter Arnell, New Head of Chrysler's Dying Design Departments
So last year around this time, we were wandering around the Chicago Auto Show thanks to the people at GM who liked to tell us, every fifteen minutes or so, that design was their number one priority. Suddenly, "design" was to car companies what "change" is to every politician running in the presidential elections. But while GM has somewhat turned things around, maybe, how would you like to be a part of the sinking design ship that is Chrysler? AdAge has just the answer, by taking a look at the new head of their design department, Peter Arnell, who was dumped a couple of years back when he was at his own ad agency, The Arnell Group, for nearly ruining Chrysler with a massive Celine Dion ad campaign (which failed miserably everywhere, save for where French-Canadians were the majority). Now he's back on top. Oh, but first, did we mention that the same week he was hired, Chysler shut down its main American design operations in California?
