Kanye West Graduates From Design Fan to Architecture Critic

We’d seen our cohorts at Curbed LA wearing those slatted shades and all, but turns out they’re even more hardcore Kanye West fans than we thought. Only someone who diligently reads West’s blog would have uncovered West’s first legit architecture review.

In his post, West gives mad love to the Neil Denari-designed concept for something called the Useful + Agreeable House:

The house is suited for different climates and housing plans, from small-lot to clusters, as vacation properties or rooftop penthouses, just to name a few uses. Upon first glance, it reminded you of that new-fangled luggage you’ve seen sitting on the baggage carousel (and a little of an airplane lavatory).

Upon first glance, we were like, dude, did he really write this? To draw the conclusion between the building and hardside luggage, then continue the travel metaphor all the way to the airplane lavatory? And using the word lavatory? Someone give this guy a column.

Also noted, something that will certainly make Harry Wakefield happy and further cements West’s design credentials. Yup, right next to his BFF Takashi Murakami in his blogroll (does that KanyeUniverCity website look familiar?), West lists MoCo Loco.

He’s for reals, y’all.
