The Future of Architecture…Today

By way of PSFK, we saw this outstanding online version of Building Design Magazine’s “2007 World Architecture 100.” It’s a snapshot of 100 different firms and what their plans are for the upcoming year. Even if you aren’t the business of building buildings, it’s well worth taking a look if just for the photographs and illustrations. Some of the stuff just looks impossibly cool, like Zaha Hadid’s crazy, maze-like MAXXI museum in Rome (page 17) and the Eden-esque Atkins hotel outside of Shanghai (page 27). There’s also some great articles in there, if you’re the reading type, about the future of architecture in developing nations. Go forth and waste your day away!
