The Hotel, Not the Promiscuous Chick From San Fernando

Well, it’s Friday and perhaps you’re heading to Phoenix, where you can get to know the Valley Ho, the recently refurbished 1956 hotel. The Scottsdale landmark is filled with all sorts of designer appointments (we spotted Nelson bubble lamps), including wacky Phillipe Starck bathtubs that sit right out in the middle of some rooms.
A highlight is the just-opened Trader Vic’s, an offspring of the famous LA tiki bar with real lava rock walls. While we can’t vouch for the rooms or the pool, we can vouch for the zippy mixing bowl-sized Scorpion Bowl. Actually, we can vouch for three.
