The Neverending Battle of Apple Vs. Georgetown Continues

Following up on a continuing story, after four rejections over the past two years, Apple is apparently hoping the fifth time is the charm, as they’ve already turned in the latest proposal for their retail store in the Georgetown area of Washington D.C., after their aforementioned fourth rejection by one of the neighborhood standards boards back in mid-January. It has been approved already by one of the committees in charge of keeping the popular shopping area maintaining a colonial feel, but Apple’s longtime nemesis, the Old Georgetown Board, gets to see the plans next and judging from the description of this new design, it doesn’t really sound like enough to appease them, so we’re predicting you’re going to continue to read these “Apple gets shut down again” posts for the next few years until either Apple gives up and goes home or the store winds up looking like Monticello. Here’s a bit:
The new design, the fifth Apple has brought before the ANC, was very slightly remodeled; new metal pieces were added to divide the large storefront window structure and two recessed side windows were brought closer to the street front. This new design was unanimously passed by ANC 2E and will face the Old Georgetown Board on Thursday.
