The Skinny on Libeskind’s ‘Crystal’

0605crystal.jpg

We, probably like you, were aware that starchitect Daniel Libeskind‘s Michael Lee-Chine Crystal, an addition to the Royal Ontario Museum, was opening this weekend in Toronto, but we wanted to wait a day or so before we could read all the reports coming in to pick our favorite review of both the building and the opening night event itself. We have determined that the accolades go to the Globe and Mail, who chimed in with the article, “It’s An Ocean Liner — No It’s a Message,” featuring not only a great synopsis of the building itself, but a nice snapshot of the evening and even some man on the street “what do you think about it?” coverage. And if you’re still wanting more, Archinect pointed us to this Flickr photoset of people’s shots of the big opening festivities. We can’t wait to get back to check it out ourselves. Looks pretty stunning.
