T+L Recruits Calvin Klein, Michael Bierut, Lisa Phillips for Design Awards Jury
Firm in their belief that “good design enhances every aspect of the travel experience,” the discerning jet-setters at Travel + Leisure are gearing up to select the winners of the magazine’s 2009 Design Awards. We weren’t sure that they could top last year’s jury, which included philanthropist Agnes Gund, architect David Rockwell, and Nike design guru John Hoke, but, well, they did. Poised to begin judging entries in 11 travel categories ranging from best museum to best suitcase is an expert panel that includes fashion design legend Calvin Klein, Pentagram’s Michael Bierut, New Museum director Lisa Phillips, architect Bernard Tschumi, landscape designer Edwina von Gal, design consultant Laurie Beckelman, and architect Adam Tihany. The 2009 winners will be featured in T+L‘s March issue, and of course, right here on UnBeige.
