Fonts Fonts Fonts
Today, at lunch, we talked about fonts. And in our recent hazy glow of nostalgic retrospect, it made us think about the time we wrote our thesis in Times New Roman and the entire architecture department sent us to the corner with a totally overdesigned dunce cap (while reveling in their own Helvetica Neues and Arial Narrows). If only they'd known we weren't alone. Apparently, Robert Venturi himself, godfather of very big signs, loves that very typeface. We're not sure if it was for our reasons (it was the default) or for totally overwrought architecture-world ones (omg, it's like totally recontextualizing the post-mundane). Speaking of overwrought, turns out that everyone's favorite playground bully likes Bell Gothic. It's just too perfect. But still not enough, so we're opening up. Font gossip, please.
