It’s October, and we’re making such great progess on our Charles and Ray Eames Halloween costumes that we decided to come up with a way to get your creative juices flowing. After scuttled our plan to gift each UnBeige reader with a Fornasetti “Themes and Variations” wall plate of his or her choosing, we settled on a contest. All you have to do is answer the following simple, three-pronged question by e-mailing your response to unbeige AT (subject line: Contest!) no later than next Thursday, October 9.

You have been tasked with naming a) a dog, b) a band, and c) a child after commercially available typefaces. What name(s) would you choose?

We’ll scrub all entries of identifying information and choose two grand prize winners, each of whom will receive a pair of tickets to’s design star-studded Editorial Design 2.0 panel on October 15. If said winners cannot attend the event (for reasons of geography or otherwise), we’ll devise a suitable replacement prize. Winners will be announced here next Friday.
