Victims’ Family Members Dragged into Flight 93 Memorial Debate

Continuing news in a story that we are beginning to fear will never ever go away and no ground will ever be made, one way or the other, the local Pennsylvania paper for Sommerset County, the Daily American News, is reporting on another recent meeting to discuss the ongoing debate over the Flight 93 Memorial. You’ll likely recall that we’ve spoken about this September 11th memorial many times in the past, the one debate being over if the Memorial looks too similar to Islamic iconography and the other issue being about whether or not the designer of the Memorial, Paul Murdoch, stole/borrowed some of the ideas from other designers who were involved in the original pitches. This time around, it concerned the former debate and two of the fathers who had children who died in the plane crash came out, one pro-Memorial and the other completely against it. Of course, this resulted in more harsh words, more fury, likely a lot more tears, and in general did little to push the project on much further, meaning the Memorial still remains in its indefinite standstill.
