One of the favorite sites of this writer’s girlfriend is The Sartorialist. You know the one, where Scott Schuman finds well-dressed, dapper people in New York and takes a quick snapshot of them, at once both holding them up as “the ideal” and hoping that you take some pointers from his subjects’ fashion sense (he’s also got a regular page in Esquire if this is ringing any bells for you). Well, now another site has sprung up, Wear Palettes, which we learned about thanks to Designboom, which grabs the photos The Sartorialist has captured and strips down the wardrobes into simplified color patterns. It’s really pretty crafty and surprisingly fun to browse through. It’s sort of like hearing the answer to a complicated math problem, then having the person show you how they got to the solution. Well, maybe more fun than that. Anyway, it’s fun. Go look at it.
