Wyoming Designers, Send Your Portfolio to the Governor’s Office Today

Florida’s is an eggshell diorama featuring native seabirds. Missouri’s is a beautifully-detailed painting of the state seal. Oregon’s features a romantic mural of Mount Hood. And Wyoming’s…well, Wyoming’s entry for the annual White House State Easter Egg Collection is…um…very nice, too.

After the American Egg Board claimed that they couldn’t locate a Wyoming artist to decorate the square state’s egg, they asked the son of an Egg Board administrator to go ahead and give it a shot:

Philip M. LeDonne of Elmhurst, Ill., decorated the “Wyoming” egg unveiled this week at the annual State Egg Display at the White House Visitor Center. First Lady Laura Bush posed for an official photo with the 51 eggs, one from each state and the District of Columbia.

The American Egg Board had LeDonne, the son of an “administrative person” at the board, decorate the egg after it couldn’t locate a Wyoming egg artist, said board director of state programs Christine Bushway.

Cara Eastwood, spokeswoman for Wyoming Gov. Dave Freudenthal, said no one contacted the governor’s office about finding a Wyoming artist.

We can understand. It’s really hard to find a Wyoming artist.
