Zaha Hadid and Karl Lagerfeld Continue Their Space-Age Love Affair

You might recall our reporting back in February about the launch of the Chanel Mobile Art Pavilion, the traveling collaboration between the wonderfully strange Karl Lagerfeld and the super-prolific space cyborg that is Zaha Hadid. Well, it’s almost finished its tour through parts of Asia and thus far their collaborative effort hasn’t made the moon explode, nor have unicorns begun to appear grazing on hillsides, but as the strange artsy space center nears our Western lands, the papers have begun picking up on the story and before it lands in New York in October, we’re given additional snapshots into the continuing collaboration/friendship between the two, like this bit from The Independent:

…Lagerfeld has been busy taking photographs of Hadid. They have, according to an informant who has seen them, recast her persona. The handful of portentous portraits — lush of texture, imperious of gaze — that the media have used endlessly have been upstaged by monochrome shots that are said to give the architect the look of an ingenue. Hadid and Lagerfeld are said to have got on like a Cap d’Antibes villa on fire, and he insisted on taking pictures of her, getting an assistant to snap a portrait of them together.
