StockTwits Desktop Launches
StockTwits Desktop is based on TweetDeck, giving users an easy-to-use interface, as StockTwits co-founder Howard Lindzon is also an investor in TweetDeck, according to TechCrunch. Lindzon told TechCrunch he envisions StockTwits Desktop as the "Social Bloomberg" or the "Facebook for Finance," noting that Bloomberg Terminals cost some $2,000 per month, while Thomson Reuters' competing service costs around $1,000 monthly. StockTwits Desktop offers features such as a Web browser and tabs on top of columns for easier access to information. It also provides real-time financial news in partnership with SkyGrid.
