Google News and YouTube are teaming up to entice news outlets that are already part of Google News' source list to join the YouTube Partner Program, YouTube news manager Olivia Ma posted in the Google News blog.

Among the benefits touted by Ma: featured premium placement; free hosting for all video content and the ability to embed videos anywhere on the Web free-of-charge; use of YouTube's Insight tool to mine viewership demographic information; a wider audience; and YouTube's "rich social environment."
