Zimmerman, McClelland Part Ways

We’ve received confirmation that Fort Lauderdale-based, Omnicom-owned agency Zimmerman has parted ways with Jeff McClelland, who once again moved from NYC to South Florida in fall 2011 to assume the role of EVP/chief integration officer. Zimmerman would not comment beyond the fact that McClelland is no longer with the agency, including whether there are immediate plans to replace him.

The departed exec is no stranger to SoFla, having worked as president of local PR firm, Starmark, after spending three years as CEO at the now-defunct Cliff Freeman & Partners. During his two decades-plus in the ad biz, McClelland has also held senior roles on the account side at the likes of Ogilvy and kbs+.

Cliff Freeman Alum McClelland Heading to Zimmerman

It appears that Jeff McClelland is moving from New York to Fort Lauderdale to take on the role of EVP, chief integration officer at Zimmerman. Spies on the tip line initially said that McClelland would be replacing CMO Michael Goldberg, who left Zimmerman a few weeks back, though obviously that is not the case (there’s no word on Golberg’s actual successor at this point).

You may remember McClelland from such agency stints as CEO at Cliff Freeman & Partners (for three years), senior partner, worldwide account director at Ogilvy during the bubble days and partner, group account director at Kirshenbaum in the mid-90s. We’re checking on actual start date, responsibilities and we’ll hopefully let you know shortly.
