BBH NY Teams Up with The Corner Shop to Plug Playstation Plus

BBH New York have teamed up with production company The Corner Shop to produce this new spot promoting Sony’s new Playstation Plus network.

The 1:19 spot continues the trend of depicting gamers in real-life situations mirroring the games they’re playing, in lieu of actual gameplay. In this way, the spot shows a group of friends transition among a series of games (at one point one of the players says, “Guy’s it’s me,” but they’re no longer playing on the same team and just laugh), displaying the Playstation Plus’ “New Games Monthly” and “Next Gen Multiplayer” features simultaneously. It’s something of a spiritual successor to BBH’s lauded Perfect Day” spot from October, although it doesn’t have quite the same swagger. Credits after the jump. Read more

-International commercial production company Hungry Man has welcomed Daniel Warwick to their roster for commercial representation in the US, UK and Brazilian markets with the  exception of Germany, where he is represented by Big Fish.

-Rock Paper Scissors has added editor Mikkel EG to its New York staff. link

-Grey North America has sent Holly McGavock, director of planning at Grey Group Hispanic marketing unit Wing,  has been selected to participate in The International Exchange (TIE). For the month of November, McGavock will spend a month in Zambia, Africa working with the Barefoot Theatre Company as a CMO delegate.

-Bicoastal/Munich-based Aéro Film has added directorss Sue Worthy and Dan Gifford for U.S. commercial representation.

-Razorfish alum Rob Palmer has joined Doner as EVP, executive creative director and will be based out of the MDC-owned agency’s Los Angeles office.

-New York-based prodco Cause & [Effect] has added Jenn Dewey as EP of its commercial division.

-Drake helps out his hometown b-ball team Toronto Raptors as part of the latter’s rebrand.

Mother Takes on Dell’s New Pocket Rocket

Dell has created its Frankenstein version of a PC/iPad/Droid hybrid and named it the Streak “pocket tablet.”

So who ya gonna call to deal with this monster? Why, Mother of course. In this spot, the agency, which we can presume has had a better relationship with the computer brand, than say, Enfatico, has created a a nice story of a man and woman trying to find each other using the tablet while the people around them are also seen using the different functions of the device during their search.

Yes, I know, another darn cell phone. It’ll never end. This one looks a tad bulky, not iPad bulky – more like an “is that a pocket tablet or are you just happy to see me” bulky. View credits after the jump.
