Real-time sports team news aggregator Sportsmanias.com is making a play to be your second-screen experience during Super Bowl 2014.
The startup’s redesigned website includes a dual stream head-to-head Twitter feed from opposing teams’ beat writers straight from the sidelines and press box.
Fans at the game and those watching from their couch can get personalize commentary on the big game via tweets from both teams’ writers as the action unfolds.
The crux of Sportsmanias’ redesign is an improved algorithm that lets the site dish up only the most relevant content, mining data sources and pulling in rumors, blog posts, videos, and tweets that users can customize into streams of real-time sports intel. Perfect for the Super Bowl.
Sportsmania, which boasts 13K Twitter followers, lets you hand-pick your “home teams,” editor your featured beat writers, and see game scores.
To use the new head-to-head Twitter stream feature, just click the “head-to-head” button beside any game in the left sidebar.
