Content marketing generates awareness of your brand, product or service; inspires consumers to engage with you; and converts them into leads and sales.
No wonder it’s the digital marketing buzz phrase of 2013.
Did you know that studies have shown that more than one in three (34 percent) of marketers have generated leads through Twitter? Or that brands that have 1,000 or more Likes on their Facebook Page experience a traffic increase of 185 percent?
What if I told you that 57 percent of companies have acquired a customer via their blog, or that one in five spend at least one hour each week engaging with marketing emails?
Did you know that more than three-quarters (78 percent) of chief marketing officers (CMOs) believe that the future of marketing is content marketing?
They’re very much practicing what they preach, too – 86 percent of business to consumer (B2C) marketers now use content marketing to engage prospects (52 percent), increase website traffic (49 percent), raise brand awareness (38 percent) and boost sales (38 percent).
You know what they say: content is king. So how do you grow your business using content marketing?
You can use social media, of course, sharing up-to-the-minute news and information on Twitter (utilising a unique hashtag to maximise reach), engaging your audience on Facebook (implementing a paid promotion to target new customers) and managing your professional relationships on LinkedIn.
Did you know that 91 percent of B2B marketers use content marketing?
And with good reason, too – blogs give websites 434 percent more index pages and 97 percent more index links, and B2B companies that actively blog generate 67 percent more leads per month. Overall, an incredible $118.4 billion is expected to be spent on content marketing, video marketing and social media in 2013.
