Back in August, Beyoncé Knowles’ pregnancy announcement at the MTV Video Music Awards set a record on Twitter, with a very impressive 8,868 tweets per second (TPS).

After her performance at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) on Saturday, music superstar Beyoncé Knowles unbuttoned her jacket and rubbed her belly, announcing her pregnancy to the world and triggering a record influx of Tweets.
Beyoncé, who has been married to hip hop star Jay-Z for three years, quickly became a trending topic on Twitter as her news began to spread at incredible 8,868 tweets per second (TPS).
