New versions of the official Twitter apps for iPhone and Android were released yesterday, both of which contain a wealth of new features, including a welcome return to Tweetie-style swipe functionality, as well as addressing concerns about the Find Friends feature that stored the phone contact lists of users without warning.

Good news, Android users: Twitter for Android has been updated, and the new features will, if not totally “wow” you, give you one more reason to unchain from your desk and tweet on the go.
Twitter released its official Android app with a completely redesigned interface today, after previewing the app to 25 followers of @TwiterGlobalPR earlier this week. The 25 demos sent by Twitter went fast, and the account was still getting deluged with requests today, nearly two days after offering the previews, and after tweeting, “Thanks for your interest in our new Twitter for Android app. We contacted the first 25 responders. Others will be able to get it soon enough.” Soon enough was today.
Twitter is expanding its global reach in its latest move to add Korean as an official language. Twitter.com and Twitter’s mobile app are now available in Korean, and the apps for Android and iPhone have been updated as well.
