TV history is about to be made, with HBO’s first-ever live social media event in celebration of the Season 6 premiere of cult favorite True Blood.
This Sunday, June 16 before the premiere, 13 cast members will kick off the programming with HBO’s first-ever real-time broadcast from the set of Fangtasia, the after-dark bar and nightclub where humans and vampires mingle, in partnership with Mass Relevance.
That’s just the precursor to the good stuff: a fan-fueled interactive pre-show, “#TrueBlood: Live from Set,” will air on HBO at 8:45 p.m. hosted by Parks and Recreation‘s Retta.
The cast will answer questions from fans and share details of the new season before it begins with the premiere episode at 9 p.m.
Here’s the lineup of participants: Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Alexander Skarsgård, Ryan Kwanten, Rutina Wesley, Sam Trammell, Nelsan Ellis, Deborah Ann Woll, Carrie Preston, Todd Lowe, Chris Bauer, Kristin Bauer van Straten and Joe Manganiello.
True Blood fan? You can submit questions now online. Fans can vote questions up or down to impact which ones get answered on-air.
That’s not all.
In a never-before-done execution with Twitter and powered by Mass Relevance, fans can follow @TrueBloodHBO and prove they’re a #TopTruebie (True Blood fan, in social parlance) for a bonus experience.
Since Mass Relevance is a Certified Twitter partner, they’re licensed to re-syndicate Twitter content for display. They’ve done some pretty impressive stuff with other media brands – for a preview of what to expect on Sunday, check out Mass Relevance’s past work.
