Social media might have revolutionised marketing for businesses of all shapes and sizes in almost every major industry and country on the planet, but it still ranks behind email for effectiveness, suggests yet another study.
Act-On surveyed almost twenty thousand U.S. marketers about which tools and tactics they use in the course of their work, and discovered that 72 percent were active in social media, which rated as the second most-popular technology behind email marketing (77 percent).
One-third (34 percent) said that implementing an effective social media marketing strategy was one of their biggest challenges, and email and tradeshows/events rated as the two marketing activities which contributed the most to sales.
