The iPhone is 3.5x more popular than Android smartphones, according to new research from mobile advertising company MoPub.
The Q3 21012 “Mobile Advertising Marketplace Report” also found that ad impressions on iOS devices are more expensive than on Android devices. But the cost of mobile ads on Android devices went up 26 percent in Q3. Now the average Android ad is $.29 less than the average iOS ad.
The report also evaluated content that garnered the highest ad impressions. Health and fitness, news and entertainment were the most popular verticals among advertisers. In addition, the study found that publishers that are using the right key words saw 1.4x higher returns than those advertisers who did not pay attention to keywords in their mobile ads. The overall trend in mobile ad bidding is leaning towards real-time bidding. According to the report, real-time bidding with winning auctions was up 162 percent in Q3.
