Russian Hacker Targets App Store

A Russian hacker who goes by the name ZonD80 has been causing a stir online, after he posted a video on YouTube about how to avoid paying for in-app purchase Apple’s App Store.

Information Week has the story: “Apple appears to be taking steps to limit the damage. Russian blog i-ekb.ru includes a note, purportedly from ZonD80, indicating that Apple has filed a takedown notice with the service provider of his website.”

The Washington Post has more: “Apple said that it is looking into the situation. ‘The security of the app store is incredibly important to us and the developer community. We take reports of fraudulent activity very seriously and we are investigating,’ said Apple spokeswoman Natalie Harrison.”
