Sony Launches Reader Library Program

LibraryFinder_v3_lg.jpgSony has launched a new Reader Library program to promote eBook collections in libraries.

Through the program, Sony will lead online training sessions on how to use digital reading devices and how to access eBooks. Sony will also give libraries digital reading devices for librarians to use. Select libraries across the country are participating. The technology company is tailoring the training session to reflect the content and features of each library’s digital collection. They will do these sessions bi-annually to keep librarians up to date.

This program comes in time for Library Advocacy Day, which is today. Library advocates from across the country are in DC today cheering on libraries.

Last week, eBookNewser spoke with NYC school librarian Amy Chow and learned that while eBooks are still a little pricey for libraries, many school libraries are offering digital book collections.
