Sony has launched two tablets — the Android-powered Sony Tablet S and Android-powered Sony Tablet P. They are the first tablets from the electronics company.
The Sony Tablet S is available for presale for $499. The 9.4-inch touchscreen tablet is Wi-Fi enabled and optimized for rich media entertainment. It runs a NVIDIA Tegra 2 mobile processor, and weighs just under 1.5 pounds.
The Sony Tablet P is a smaller device with two 5.5-inch screens that fold in half. It weighs under a pound and also features a NVIDIA Tegra 2 mobile processor. It runs Wi-Fi and is 4G capable exclusively through AT&T. This one is not available yet, but will be later this year.
Both models will come loaded with Android 3.1 and 3.2. Both models feature front and rear facing cameras for video recording and taking photos. The devices also support micro USB interface and SD card.
