If the iPad were it’s own company, it would be the eleventh largest technology company in the country, according to a new report.
Fortune has the report: “According to a recent report from Bernstein Research analyst Toni Sacconaghi, the iPad line brought in $32 billion in sales last year — accounting for just over 60% of all tablet sales — and will grow 75% in 2013 to $46 billion. With numbers like those, Sacconaghi estimates that would make the iPad business, on its own, the 11th largest tech company.”
In 2012, Apple reported record iPad sales every quarter in 2012. Apple sold 15.43 million iPads during the first quarter, a 111 percent unit increase over the previous year. The company sold 11.8 million iPads during the second quarter 2012, a 151 percent unit increase over the same quarter the previous year. Apple sold 17 million iPads in the third quarter of 2012, an 84 percent increase. The company sold 14 million iPads during the fourth quarter, a 26 percent unit increase year-over-year. And in November, Apple announced it had sold three million iPads in three days driven by the launch of its new iPad.
