The UbiSlate is a low resolution 7″ Android tablet with a 1GHz processor and 4 GB for storage. It’s very minimal, but at $35 ( £29.99), it’s within the purchase price of the UK’s poorest residents – 29% of whom do not have a personal computer and 36% have no internet.
The Ubislate is produced by Datawind and is the lowest priced tablet from the manufacturer – other tablets range between £50 and £129. Datawind originally developed the cheap tablets for educational use in India in 2012. Now in the UK, the UbiSlate can be easy Christmas gifts for families by being the only tablet priced under £100.
