The New York mediarati offer mixed opinions on whether the two money-losing publications can combine successfully. (Money quote from the less-than-flattering Guardian article: "The Daily Beast, into which [Barry] Diller's IAC group pumped as much as $20 [million], has no apparent business plan beyond his deep pockets.")
