Eric Schmidt is out at Google. (Was he fired?) Schmidt was scheduled to be CEO until 2024, but the company no longer needs adult supervision. Larry Page will replace the outgoing CEO on April 4. Schmidt will stay on in an advisory and cheerleader role, given the title of "Executive Chairman." The New York Times sees the move as an attempt to reinvigorate a once-famous start-up culture that's lost some luster as Google has come to dominate the industry. Page's first task will be bringing Google into the social sphere, ironic considering his lack of presence in that space...

Town & Country shows Stephen Drucker the door. He's only been with the magazine since April 2010. Jay Fielden, former editor-in-chief of Men's Vogue, succeeds Drucker. Fielden and Hearst Magazines president David Carey worked together at The New Yorker... Interview promotes Miguel Enamorado to fashion director. He'd been fashion market director there...

Carolyn Ryan will serve as The New York Times' Metro editor, and Trish Hall will act as Op-Ed editor for the Gray Lady... Emily Witt joins the The New York Observer as its new Wall Street reporter, while Nick Summers jumps ship for Newsweek after only a few months at the paper... The Huffington Post and BET co-founder Sheila Johnson collaborate to launch HuffPost GlobalBlack... Steve Coz comes to Newsmax Media as editorial director where he'll help target the 60-plus crowd. He's most famous for handling the National Enquirer coverage of the O.J. Simpson trial while at AMI...

NBC parts ways with Angela Bromstad, head of entertainment for the past two years... Suzanne Malveaux will anchor the 11 a.m.-1 p.m. block of CNN Newsroom. She had been the network's White House correspondent... Jessica D'Onofrio moves back to Chicago for a job with WLS-TV, while Vic Faust gets bumped up at WXYZ-TV in Detroit...

ESPN is hiring a new ombudsman. Don Ohlmeyer spent a year and a half on the job, penning 13 columns with one more forthcoming... Roy Jones Jr. comes to HBO Boxing After Dark as a full-time analyst... Major League Soccer hires J. Russell Findlay as chief marketing officer... Chicago Bears jack of all trades Devin Hester will pen a monthly parenting column for Chicago Parent...

Andy Coulson is out as communications director for the British Prime Minister as a result of more fallout from the phone hacking scandal... Golin Harris hires Jim Dowd as SVP of national media relations... Tracy McGraw comes to BET as SVP of corporate communications... And there are changes at American Cowboy, Media Storm and more
