Sunday Show Ratings, 5.25.14: With ‘MTP’ On Hiatus, ‘FTN’ Soars

CBS’ “Face the Nation” draw the most viewers out of all the public affairs show last Sunday. They are won the key A25-54, bringing in 915,000 viewers. This is the second week in a row at the top for CBS.  ABC’s “This Week” was second over all; NBC’s “Meet the Press” was preempted due to coverage of the Monaco Grand Prix.

The wins for “Face the Nation” come just as the CBS show finishes the 2013-14 season first in both total viewers and the A25-54 demographic. It was the best audience in total viewers for “Face” in 21 years.

ABC’s “This Week” was second for the season, followed by NBC’s “Meet the Press” in third, “Fox News Sunday” in fourth and Univision’s “Al Punto” in fifth.

CNN’s ‘Reliable Sources’ Suffers Second-Lowest Rating Ever

This past Sunday, CNN’s “Reliable Sources” suffered its second-lowest rated demo ever with only 59K. According to Nielsen, 12/29/13 was the lowest (54K), which was also hosted by CNN’s Brian Stelter, after taking over the program the previous month. “Reliable Sources” became a one hour program on 2/7/10.

In the same time slot, FNC’s “MediaBuzz” delivered 203,000 in the key demo on Sunday, which more than triples “Reliable Sources.” According to Nielsen, on 5/25/14, ”MediaBuzz” beat CNN and MSNBC combined by 80%.

This after CNN fell to third place in total day viewers and primetime A25-54 demo viewers and falling to fourth place in the daytime demo. See the full numbers after the jump. Read more

Sunday Show Ratings: 5.18.14

TVNewser’s Merrill Knox posted the May 18th Sunday Show ratings, with CBS’s “Face the Nation” in the top spot.

“Compared to the same week last year, ‘This Week’ is the only show to grow, +6% in total viewers and +3% in the demo.”

In total viewers, “Face the Nation” was down 2%, “Meet the Press” down 9%, and “Fox News Sunday’ down 11%.

Sunday Show Ratings, 5.15.14: ABC, CBS Split The Difference

CBS’s “Face the Nation” was the top rated Sunday show again last week -but ABC’s “This Week” managed to win the key 25-54 year old demographic. Both shows were up slightly compared to last week in overall viewers – 5.8% and 5% respectively. In the demo, ABC was up 11.5% while CBS was down 14.7%.

NBC’s beleaguered “Meet the Press” -which has not ranked higher than 3rd place in overall viewers since April 6 -was given a reprieve this week, as it was preempted by coverage of Barclay’s Premier League soccer.
