Fish Poll: And the Best Turkey Pardon Headline Is…

turkey pinAnd the results are in…

The Minneapolis Star Tribune earned the great honor of tying with “Other” in our Fish Poll.  However, not one of you turkeys supplied me with any witty alternatives. “I don’t care” was pithy but off topic.

Congrats MST, your “White House turns turkey pardon into Hunger Games” headline earned you 36.36% of the popular vote, yams and extra gravy.

anne-vyalitsyna-si-260812031

Yesterday, Free Beacon’s Robert Charette graciously welcomed swimsuit model Anne Vyalitsyna to that one awesome country, that everyone likes, and has ranked #1 in freedom for over 237 straight years. That one. Yeah, that’s right! This one! She’s part of Team U.S.A. now! A stunningly beautiful swimsuit model from Europe became a naturalized American citizen, proving that our current immigration system ain’t all that bad (except in basically every other way).

DC Bureau Spared In Latest Round of CNN Layoffs

cnnAfter a quiet culling at their Washington bureau back in June, CNN has made another round of layoffs -this time at it’s New York, LA, and Atlanta bureaus. The cuts come as new President Jeff Zucker is seeking to revamp CNN in his own vision. Key reforms Zucker has instituted so far include a revival of DC-based “Crossfire,” and bringing on non-traditional talent such as Anthony Bourdain and Morgan Spurlock. CNN Films has also made a splash under Zucker with the release of its documentary Blackfish about the atrocious living condition of captive killer whales, which has won widespread attention on the Internet and has even been credited with tanking SeaWorld’s stock value. It’s unclear if even more personnel changes are in the offing.
