CQ Roll Call Loses Two Reporters

This just in from CQ Roll Call: A memo from Roll Call Editor-in-Chief David Rapp. He writes that they are losing two of their “best reporters” are leaving. Amanda Becker is going to Reuters and Josh Miller is moving on to the Boston Globe.

See the congenial internal memo.To CQ Roll Call staff –

Two of our best reporters are making career moves and will leave CQ Roll Call later this month.

Amanda Becker is taking a position at Reuters covering labor and employment for the legal team. She came to Roll Call nearly two years ago from the Washington Post, where she covered lobbying and law for Capital Business. She’s led our coverage of congressional ethics, violations of campaign finance law and generally any legal problems that hit lawmakers.  We’ll miss her aggressive reporting and passion for a good story. Her last day is Friday, March 22.

Josh Miller is taking his dream job of covering local politics for the Boston Globe, where, of course, all politics is local. That’s his home town and where his family resides, so this is a personal as well as professional move for him. At Roll Call, Josh covered House and Senate elections in southeastern states and Maine, New York and Massachusetts, turning in some of the best copy you’ll see (often at late hours). He came here two years ago from ABC News, where he worked as a segment producer for the Sunday public affairs program “This Week.” His last day at Roll Call will be Thursday, March 21.

Please join me in congratulating both Amanda and Josh. We thank each of them for their many contributions over the past couple of years, and for their roles as stellar newsroom citizens. We wish you all the best.

David
