The Atlantic to Hire for Video Team

This morning The Atlantic‘s Digital Editor Bob Cohn and VP and GM of Atlantic Digital Kim Lau announce the promotion of  Kasia Cieplak-Mayr von Baldegg, their newly named executive producer of Atlantic Video. Previously she was senior associate editor. She came to The Atlantic two years ago to launch and run a video channel. Cohn describes the “arduous” task she faced, sifting through the Internet and finding material that best suited the outlet while coping with a complex licensing process.

“Kasia is the ideal person to lead our efforts,” said Cohn in a memo.

Most important line: “We’ll be hiring for this team during the spring and summer.”

See where she’s been, what she’s done…

In her past…“Prior to coming to The Atlantic in 2011, she developed nonfiction TV and web campaigns at advertising start-up Urgent Content, worked as a producer at Current TV, and studied filmmaking and digital media at Harvard.”
