TVNewser: ABC News paid a pretty penny for the rights to video featuring Joe Jackson and family: upwards of $200,000. Along with the video, the news network also secured an exclusive interview with the grieving father of Michael Jackson.
New York Times/The Atlantic: Did White House columnist Dan Froomkin get canned by The Washington Post due to lack of Web traffic? That’s not what the new Huffington Post staffer thinks. “I don’t think page views were a major factor in my dismissal,” Froomkin told Conor Clarke today.
New York Observer: Former New York Observer columnist Rebecca Dana has left The Wall Street Journal to join The Daily Beast. She will be working as the fashion and entertainment correspondent for the Web site, and will be based out of New York but will travel frequently to Los Angeles, where the Daily Beast is establishing a new bureau.
