Boston Anchor Frances Rivera Officially Joins WPIX for Mornings

As we reported last month, Frances Rivera is heading to WPIX/Channel 11. The Emmy Award winning anchor teams up with Sukanya Krishnan from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. starting on Monday, August 29th.

Rivera previously worked in Boston, anchoring evening newscasts for NBC affiliate WHDH and the WLVI for the CW.

“I am really looking forward to joining the PIX11 Morning News, a show that is essential for so many tri-state viewers,” Rivera says. “I am thrilled to be back home near my family in New Jersey.”

Rivera attended college abroad and received her Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of the Philippines.

“Frances is a key addition to the PIX11 Morning News family,” News director Bill Carey says. ”When viewers come to watch, they’ll be impressed.”
