Here at FishbowlNY, we normally do “Cover Battles” (in our most recent edition, Seventeen trounced Fortune). But after looking at this picture, we have a different question for our readers. Who more successfully channeled Lars von Trier‘s Nymphomaniac? The male members of the Danish Film Critics Association, or the women?
Per Indiewire, the above, bodacious tongue-in-cheek poster is to promote the group’s upcoming Bodil awards. And yes, we will agree with one initial thread of reaction across the Internet: Danish film critics are a relatively good-looking bunch.
A pair of top-row men stand out to us. While the second-from-the-left critic seems to have had a “Jesus Christ”-like sexual experience, the man pictured fourth-from-the-left appears to be more wistfully processing the fact that his encounter was not quite of the cosmic, spiritual variety. All participants ably and wonderfully hit the cheeky spot.
P.S. In the spirit of LAFCA’s recent tie-riffic awards, we think both the men and women of the Danish Film Critics Association have equally succeeded here.
