Oprah is Planning a Massive Birthday Party

Oprah turns 60 in January, but the queen of media is already busy planning the festivities. The New York Post reports that Oprah is having her 42-acre estate in Montecito completely revamped for the party. There will be performances by Tina Turner and Beyoncé, and the guest list — so far, at least — features John Travolta, Julia Roberts and Tom Cruise (if he promises to stay off the furniture).

Because Oprah is Oprah, she’s selling a bunch of items inside her house to make room for new, more party worthy stuff. Think less crystal, more red Solo cups. Kaminski Auctions will be auctioning off Oprah’s boring crap at the Santa Barbara Polo Club.

Richard Mineards, a columnist for the Montecito Journal, said of the auction, “It will be like the Jackie O Sotheby’s auction in New York in 1996. A major feeding frenzy!”

People are f*cking weird.
