Sasha Frere-Jones Steps Back From The Daily

Sasha Frere-Jones, the big name Culture Editor for The Daily, is stepping back from his duties to become its Editor-at-Large. Jesse Angelo, the Editor-in-Chief of The Daily, said in an internal memo that Claire Howorth, formerly the Deputy Culture Editor, would take over for Frere-Jones.

The New York Observer reports that Angelo said the reason Frere-Jones was leaving was that he wanted more flexibility.
