I am an author, historian and educator. I use oral history interviews, foodways & material culture to better understand the often unwritten experiences of America's individuals and communities. I am working on Out of the Silence, a book about the desegregation crisis in Clinton, Tennessee. I have a PhD from UNC Chapel Hill.
