Professional Experience

I graduated from Loyola University Chicago in May 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Fine Arts: Drawing and Painting and a minor in Communication: Digital Media. I am currently writing on Medium and as well as working contract-based with small publishers on various subjects. My main topics are non-fiction, including articles on lifestyle, writer-on-writing, self-awareness and improvement, culture, cuisine, traveling, et cetera. As an artist, I am creative, crafty, and handy. I can work physically for an extended period and maintain excellent performance. As a writer, I have solid writing skills and the ability to connect with others through my writing. I am punctual, hard-working, and ambitious. I work independently, but I am also a team player. I am seeking opportunities to work as a freelance writer for online publications, individual inquirers, and large media companies across the United States.

General

This article is a rant on my struggles to find a job and build my career. It is also a way for me to discover my emotions and figure out a solution for my career, which I did. Every person who is undergoing unemployment and self-loathing deserves to be heard and receive the support they need. And I hope my article is that support.
It took me almost two days to complete this article. In those two days, a lot has happened. I locked down to writing gigs and officially started my freelance writing career. I reconnected with my two best friends, both have read and enjoyed my articles. My dad, who rarely gives compliments, told me, “My daughter is the best.” I have become happier. My life is still not stable, yet, but I am making progress. I am telling you all this now, so you know where I was a week ago, and where I am now. Life is full of ups and downs. Do not let your downs drown you. I almost did. Keep climbing towards the ups. Take care of yourself, celebrate progress, stay in touch with your family, and always ask for help. Like me, you will realize how silly it was to torture yourself over some failures.
Life of a writer is not as glamorous as it seems. Still, it is the most meaningful thing that has happened to me in a long time. Since I decided to become a writer, I have been writing daily and publishing every two days. From a person who never wrote more than diaries and school essays, I’ve become obsessed with writing. What if I get tired of writing? What if all this is a fluke? What if I am not really a writer but only trying to be one? Then I will get tired, get bored, give up? Those questions rush through my head every day. But writing has been the one thing that makes me truly happy?—?not arts nor having a full-time job working at whatever. So I created a mission: to make writing my long-term career. This article elaborates on simple principles that prevent me from giving up on my writing career.
