Professional Experience
I’m a writer. I’m a computer user. I’ve combined those characteristics for over two decades, helping other computer users be more efficient and effective. I’ve been publishing on WordPress for 10+ years. WordPress is the easiest and most powerful way to build your home on the Web, but sometimes the choices can be overwhelming. I write articles that simplify those choices and have built sites for others. I bring the same user-focus to describing and helping readers get the most from Linux and its applications.

XML-RPC and Why It’s Time to Remove it for WordPress Security

This piece for WPMUDev sounds really esoteric. The post explains perhaps the most important thing users can do to protect their sites from attack.

What the New Webmention and Annotation W3C Standards Mean for WordPress
(WPMUDev 7/17/2016)
I’ve become something of a standards geek. The key to the success of the Open Web is that everyone can get a very similar experience, no matter what tool they use to reach the web. The standards that I covered here focus on interaction between users and sites (annotation) and between sites (webmention). Stuff worth knowing about.
