Professional Experience
Over the years I have focused my documentary work on topics ranging from a design and
business after-school program for Durham high school students, to my own Lebanese-American family, to music therapy for individuals with dementia.
My background is in still photography. I have a journalism degree from James Madison
University and a Certificate in Documentary Studies from the Center for Documentary Studies
at Duke University. Inspired by changes in the field, I earned a Master of Arts in New Media
Photojournalism from the Corcoran College of Art + Design, during which I also studied video. Since graduate school, I work in both still photography and multimedia.
My thesis project for the Corcoran College of Art + Design is a multimedia piece looking at how music therapy and other music activities are applied for people with Alzheimer's-related
dementia.
I am based in the Washington, DC area and am available for freelance work locally and out-of-town.
