Profile of Allan and Suzi, one of a kind vintage fashion dealers.
I was the first to discover and write about the fashionable set buying up barns; renovating; and gentrifying Upstate NYC, Woodstock and environs. I was ahead of the curve. I was known for that kind of thing.
Part Two of my report about the first wave of gentrification in the late 90's of Upstate NYC.
After attending a few exclusive dinner parties where stylish women were swapping pills, I decided to investigate. This story was so popular with readers, that Harper's Bazaar translated and syndicated it for several of their foreign titles.

I didn't write this but I am profiled in this regarding my novel Who Town,, a fictional satire about five "it kids" in NYC, whose private lives are vastly different from how they are portrayed in the media. The novel has become a 'cult best seller' at local NYC independent bookstores.
I profiled Jeff Koons and critiqued his exhibit at the Gugenheim Bilbao and tied in his personality and mood to the taste of the Basque region.
I chronicled the early face lifts of the Lower East Side -- now a completely trendy area -- formerly a Jewish hood at the turn of the 20th Century; a place replete with cheap schmatta vendors and knish joints, until the hipsters took over.

Fashion shorts about vintage and shopping guides that appeared in the Styles Section of the New York Times, for which I had been contracted for several years.
Fashion show reviews. Donna Karan. Zac Posen. Proenza Schouler. Marc Jacobs.
Fashion week diary where I scribbled details as I went along. So happens that I ran into Fran Leibowitz wearing her first pair of Manolos to impress her friend Kelly Klein -- Calvin's ex, who was throwing a party for her photo books of horses -- and some punk stole a Vivienne Westwood collector tee from a Visionaire exhibit. Those were the days!

Full on investigative piece where I discovered major designers were scoping thrift stores and copying them exactly as original campaign looks.
Women tired of buying off the rack, hire private seamstresses and designers.

Designers like Matthew Williamson and Zac Posen started their businesses by dressing famous and infamous friends. Grass roots fashion gone glam.

Agatha Ruiz De La Prada brings her very Madrid styles -- both clothes and home -- to Soho, NY.
I attended the downtown off Broadway production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch for a full week, interviewing theater goers, hanging out at the backstage door, to find out why the star Ally Sheedy, was a continuous "no show."
