Dante’s “Inferno” and Video Games

dante.jpgFollowing yesterday’s post about the June release of “Android Karenina,” you might think that headline refers to an going trend of mashing up classic literature with 21st Century horror. You would be wrong.

eBookNewser reports that Electronic Arts will soon release a video game based on Dante’s “Inferno” and Random House will release a special tie-in edition of Dante’s epic poem, The Inferno to celebrate the game. You can’t make up these headlines.

Here’s more from eBookNewser: “Ever wanted to make your way through Dante’s circles of Hell on your Playstation rather than read a dumb old book? Or have you ever wished you had an epic poem to read instead of having to play a frustrating video game? If you answered yes to either of these questions, you’re in luck … If only Dante had lived to see this day. He would be so psyched.”
