We are seeking a highly skilled firmware engineer to join the Wireless Connectivity Silicon Team, responsible for designing, developing, and bringing up innovative wireless silicon for Apple products such as iPhone and Mac. Description

We are looking for talented, creative, and disciplined engineers to contribute to the development of new silicon within a dynamic, collaborative environment. Responsibilities include:

  1. Understanding wireless communication system components and modules.
  2. Designing PHY firmware architecture, including calibrations, real-time processing, and collaboration with RF hardware, microcode, and MAC layer.
  3. Developing efficient designs that optimize performance, power, and memory while meeting real-time requirements.
  4. Debugging real-time systems using development boards and lab equipment.
  5. Collaborating with Radio, MAC, and Systems teams on algorithms, calibrations, and protocols.
  6. Supporting pre-silicon validation, simulation, emulation, and FPGA prototyping.
  7. Developing SoC test and calibration capabilities for manufacturing.
  8. Supporting post-silicon validation, performance characterization, and system debugging.
  9. Automating calibration and verification processes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of industry experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with wireless systems and protocols such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LTE, or NR.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Solid embedded software fundamentals, including real-time constraints, concurrency, and multi-processor systems.
  • Deep understanding of data structures, object-oriented design, and system architecture.
  • Proficiency in C, C++, Python, and debugging.
  • Familiarity with low-level hardware interfaces, register and interrupt programming, and power management.
  • Experience with version control, CI, and testing.
  • Knowledge of RF and analog components is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Highly organized, motivated, and eager to learn.

Pay & Benefits

The base pay range is $135,400 to $250,600, depending on skills and experience. Benefits include medical, dental, retirement, stock programs, discounts, education reimbursement, and more. Learn more at Apple Benefits.
